Dear friends, I will be going to Nepal this summer again. I will be going with my friend Heather Guay per a fellowship from Fund For Teachers. Our project website is http://projectnepal.net and we will be doing research on the topic of cultural competency. I can spend some time explaining the purpose of the fellowship to you (give me a call!!!) or you can visit the website. My goals for this summer are: 1) to host a youth summit for all the youth technology leaders in the various centers for the YMRC project. (http://ymrc-nepal.org) 2) to host a training for webpage development for each of the centers so that projects can be shown on the Internet 3) to deliver technology equipment to the centers (flash drives and digital cameras) 4) to deliver books and other literacy supplies to the centers for youth to learn with 5) to study how teachers in Nepal embrace their culture when teaching their students
We are actively seeking donations. Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. In fact, most of the country lives on less than a dollar a day! The trip is paid for throught the fellowship, but funds are needed to facilitate trainings. For donations for this project in Nepal, click on the donations button below.
